THE HC INTERNATIONAL TEAM
MATTHEW HAYDEN - PRESIDENT:
Leveraging a strong educational background and industry experience
gained through the brokerage and financial communications industry,
Matt founded Hayden Communications eleven years ago. The firm
has evolved into an organization supported by an extensive network
of professionals focused on the public markets. This dedicated
team of professionals delivers timely exposure and unparalleled
customer service for its clients while upholding the highest level
of integrity. Three and a half years ago, the firm was engaged
by InternationalDisplay Works, one of the first emerging China
based companiesto list on a formal US exchange, which was recently
purchased by Flextronics for approximately $330 million in cash.
This experience provided the foundation for what has become HC
International, Inc. an investor relations firm that exclusively
services foreign based, US listed companies. Performance is the
key metric we utilize to determine success and to that end the
HC International Index has outperformed all market indices by
a substantial margin during the past three years.
FENG PENG - VICE PRESIDENT OF CHINA:
Feng Peng joined HC International in 2007 and is based in Shanghai. He worked for Citigroup as an Assistant Vice President and as a consultant for Thomson Financial in New York. He also worked for the Bank of China when he resided there. He is a graduate of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Bachelors) and New Jersey Institute of Technology (Master’s in Computer Science). Feng is currently studying at Warwick University for his MBA.
TED J. HABERFIELD - EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT – WEST COAST:
Ted Haberfield provides strategic management consulting to public companies by integrating the areas of finance, marketing, and compliance to help facilitate a clear, concise and consistent communication strategy with both shareholders and the investment community at large. Prior to joining HC International, Ted spent over thirteen years as a financial advisor serving the investment needs of high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors, including non-profit organizations and sovereign governments. He served as Second Vice President of Wealth Management at Smith Barney, a division of Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and worked as Second Vice President of Investments at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Ted has been a speaker on financial related topics at the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), First Nation’s Development Institute, Guatemala Prospera and other national level associations. He is also founder of the American Indian Community Foundation, which serves the needs of Native Americans through endowed funds and direct gifts. Ted has his Series 7 and 63 licenses and is a qualified and regulated professional for his client base. He received his degree in Financial Management at California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo and currently resides in Encinitas, CA with his wife Danielle and his two daughters, Layla and London.
JOHN T. MATTIO - SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT:
John Mattio joined us in 2008. John is a career internationalist having worked and traveled to more than 100 countries his 15-year career in international business, trade and finance. For 10 years, he represented the international sales, marketing and distribution interests of mid and large cap multinational US firms in the Industrial, Food service, Hardware& Lawn and Garden and Automotive industries. In doing so, he aided the development of profitable global networks of direct sales and retail channels with offices throughout the world for noted brands such as Hamilton Beach, Turtle Wax, Hunter Fan and MTD Products. John has also worked for global logistics and trade companies based in the US and Switzerland. His unique experience and in depth understanding of local business and management platforms provides HCI the experience to qualify the operational and management team expertise essential to producing returns for investors. Moreover, his international communication skills are instrumental in presenting our clients marketing position and company strength in its sector. Fluent in four languages, John is a cum laud graduate of the American University's School of International Service, Washington DC and also holds a Master's degree in International and Intercultural Management from the School for International Training in Vermont, USA.
RITA JIANG - VICE PRESIDENT:
Rita’s comprehensive business and finance background will benefit HC’s clients both in the U.S. and globally. Prior to joining HC International in 2008, Rita was an Equity Trader with Dimension Capital, LLC. Previously, Rita spent over three years as a financial advisor serving the investment needs of middle-class Americans, business owners, and small to mid-size organizations. She also co-founded a business in Construction and Real Estate development at New York Metro area. Rita received comprehensive training in Finance and is a CFA Level III candidate. Fluent in Mandarin and English, Rita is a graduate of University of Science & Technology of China (Bachelors) and Northwestern University (Master’s in Chemistry).
THE HCI EMERGING GROWTH TEAM:
ALAN SHEINWALD:
Mr. Sheinwald, has been partner with Matt Hayden since 2004, and has been an active advisor and consultant to the constituents of public companies since 1995. In addition, Mr. Sheinwald has operated in executive capacity of various public and private companies in a diverse mix of industries. Many of his clients have been NASDAQ firms with market capitalizations between $50 million to $500 million. He has provided advisement on turn-around situations, workouts, strategic alternatives and capital formation strategies. From 1990 to 1995, he was employed by Mayflower Group (A publicly traded transportation conglomerate). He left Mayflower as Vice President of Sales of their $300 million passenger transport subsidiary after helping to successfully sell the company to Laidlaw, a NYSE firm. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Sheinwald was an officer in the U.S. Army serving with the 7th U.S. Cavalry. He is a graduate of West Point and holds an MBA in finance with honors from New York University.
THOMAS P.WALSH - VICE PRESIDENT:
Thomas Walsh has been instrumental in building and executing both financial communication programs and investor relations plans for a wide variety of public companies for six years. Thomas brings to each program the breadth of experience gained from serving a variety of companies across many industries. He has gained much exposure to financial markets in a wide variety of client situations ranging from crisis to explosive growth. He joined Alliance/HC International Emerging Growth in early 2006. Thomas is recognized as an expert on investor relations, corporate disclosure, governance, valuation and other corporate management topics for micro- to large-cap companies. He is responsible for the strategic IR consulting and day-to-day program execution of several publicly traded small-cap programs.
During his career in investor relations, Thomas has counseled dozens of companies on investor relations issues, including strategic positioning, financing, crisis communications and delisting situations. He has extensive experience in the creation and management of investor relations and financial communications programs, including investor marketing materials, investor days, annual meetings, annual reports and conference calls. He has worked with many mid and large cap companies including Sun Microsystems (SUNW), VF Corporation (VFC), Sterling National Bank (STL), Trans World Entertainment (TWMC), United Natural Foods (UNFI) and CIT Group (CIT). In addition, Thomas has done extensive work with the IR Alliance division of the American Stock Exchange that helps AMEX listed companies build communication programs. Thomas is a graduate of Union College with a degree in Economics.
VALTER PINTO - ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT:
Valter has been with the Alliance Advisors and Hayden Communications International Emerging Growth team for over two years. Operating from the Westchester, New York office he has advised over a dozen public companies on multiple levels including their corporate strategy, communication to the investment community, and organization of client presentation materials. Valter has also been instrumental in managing and structuring road shows with institutional investors and various brokerage houses across the country. Prior to joining Alliance and Hayden Communications Valter worked at Solomon Smith Barney. He graduated from the University of Albany with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. Valter played Division I soccer at the University of Albany and is pursuing advanced education in finance.
